Hiring Runway Planner: When to Start Hiring to Meet 31 December: StrongYes Emiratisation Hub
Quick answer

A new Emirati hire counts only once the work permit, MoHRE contract, WPS salary and pension registration are in place, so the real deadline is earlier than 31 December. Enter how long each step takes in your organisation and the planner works backwards to the latest date to start sourcing, make the offer and start onboarding.

Every duration below is an editable assumption, not an official processing time: replace it with your own experience.

A planning aid built on your own assumptions, not an official processing time or legal advice. Confirm current MoHRE, WPS and GPSSA processes for your establishment.

Why the real deadline is earlier

MoHRE counts an Emirati toward your target as a registered, genuine employee: a MoHRE contract, salary paid through WPS at AED 6,000 or more, and pension registration with GPSSA. An offer accepted on 30 December does not meet a 31 December assessment. Plan from the end date backwards.

Frequently asked questions

01What is the last date to hire an Emirati for the 31 December 2026 target?

It depends on your own process. Work back from 31 December through registration, notice period, offer acceptance and sourcing; with typical assumptions, sourcing needs to start in October.

02Are these official MoHRE processing times?

No. They are editable planning assumptions. Replace them with your organisation's experience.
